The Border Security Force (BSF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens (Male & Female) for 241 vacancies for the post of Constable (General Duty) under the Sports Quota. This is a Group “C” post, initially temporary, likely to be made permanent.

BSF Constable Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Nationality: Indian Citizen.
  2. Age Limit: 18 to 23 years as on 1st August 2025.
    • Age relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer).
    • Further relaxations for departmental candidates.
  3. Educational Qualification: Matriculation (10th Pass) or equivalent from a recognized Board.
  4. Sports Qualification (Meritorious Sportsperson):
    • Candidates must be a medal winner or participant in a recognized event/competition within the last two years from the closing date of application (20/08/2025).
    • This includes:
      • Individual Events: Participation/Medal in International Sports events (recognized by International Olympic Association as an Indian team member) OR Medal in National Games/Championship/Open Championship (recognized by Indian Olympic Association/Sports Federation) in Junior National Level Championship/Championship held between 21/08/2023 and 20/08/2025.
      • Team Events: Medal in National Games/Championship (Junior/Senior) / Recognized sports meet while representing State/UT/Sports Control Board as a playing member of the team, during 21/08/2023 and 20/08/2025.

Selection Process:


The recruitment process will include:

  1. Online Application Scrutiny: Initial check of submitted applications and uploaded documents.
  2. Documentation: Verification of original documents (age, education, caste, sports certificates, etc.).
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of Height, Chest (for males), and Weight (proportionate to height and age).
  4. Detailed Medical Examination (DME): To assess medical fitness.
  5. Merit List: Drawn based on marks obtained for sports achievements.
